History of 753 Area Code
Area code 753 was initially announced in 2021 and was put into service on March 26, 2022. It was the 16th phone code in the province and one of the 19 area codes introduced in that year. The 613 area code was introduced for the entire province of Ontario except the Golden Horseshoe in 1947. Then, after six years, Ontario’s southwestern portion of 613 was combined with the western region of 416 area code to create new area code 519. Additionally, in 1957, a larger northwestern portion of 613 combined with the northern part of 519 for area code 705. Since then, 613 has served only the eastern portion of the province.
